Badwell Ash Holiday Lodges sits in five acres of woodland and gardens on Hunston Road, Badwell Ash, in mid Suffolk near Bury St Edmunds. There are four Scandinavian pine log lodges, Heron, Kingfisher, Wagtail and Woodpecker, plus the Damsel shepherd's hut, all for adults only.
Each has a fully fitted kitchen and a private, secluded six-seater hot tub. Guests consistently mention spotless lodges, high quality furnishings and welcome hampers with local treats, and several say the hot tub is the perfect end to a day's fishing.
Fishing is free for guests, day and night, all year.
The three spring-fed lakes are for guests only and fishing is free, day and night, all year, with most swims beside the lodges. The lakes hold carp, several over 20lb, along with tench, bream, perch, roach and rudd. Guests describe the lakes as beautifully kept and peaceful, although at least one reviewer enjoyed the lodge more than the fishing.
