Cabin Adventures is an independent guide to UK fishing lodges: lakes with somewhere to stay on the bank, private pegs, hot tubs and dog-friendly cabins, plus a smaller section on carp fishing holidays in France. This page explains who runs the site, how we check the venues we list, and how to reach us.
Who runs Cabin Adventures
The site is owned and run by Marketing the Change, a digital marketing agency based in Liverpool. We took over Cabin Adventures in 2026. The reviews and county guides published before then were written by the previous owner, and we keep them because the venue information in them is still useful; where we have found something out of date, we have corrected it or said so on the page.
How we check venues
- The venue’s own website first for the accommodation, the lakes, the rules and the prices.
- Angling sources next, such as fishery listings and catch reports, for the details venues often leave out: pegs, depths, species and the size of the fish.
- Guest reviews for what staying there is actually like, summarised in our own words.
- Every check is dated, and every venue page lists its sources, so you can see how current the information is.
- Unknowns stay unknown. If a venue does not say whether a lodge has its own peg or takes dogs, we write “not confirmed” rather than guessing.
- No invented stays. We only write about staying somewhere in the first person if one of us has actually stayed there.
Corrections and closures
Fisheries change hands, restock, close and reopen. When we find a venue has closed, we say so on its page with the date we checked rather than quietly removing it. If you spot something wrong, from a price to a lake record, please tell us and we will check it.
Advertising and bookings
Cabin Adventures is free to use and is funded by advertising. You book directly with each venue or through the booking site linked on its page. Venues cannot pay to change what we write about them.
