Log Cabins by a Six Acre Carp Lake Near Criccieth

Five self-catering log cabins in 40 acres of mature woodland, a mile from Criccieth on the Llyn Peninsula. The six acre coarse lake has hosted international matches and holds carp over 20lb, with a lake record of 27lb, plus tench, bream, orfe, barbel and chub.

Our take

A match-standard lake with plenty of bites, a mile from the sea. Bron Eifion's six acre lake has hosted Wales against Scotland and Celtic Cup internationals, and it is stocked for bites across a long species list, with carp over 20lb and a record of 27lb. The five cabins sit in woodland a mile from Criccieth. Only Glaslyn Lodge has a hot tub, and fishing stops at dusk, so it suits families and pleasure anglers more than night-session carp anglers.

Good for

  • Families and beginners wanting steady bites
  • Anglers who like a varied species list
  • A Llyn Peninsula base near Criccieth

Think twice if

  • You want to night fish: the lake is open 8am until dusk
  • You want a hot tub: only Glaslyn Lodge has one

Pick your lodge for dogs and a hot tub

Dwyfor, Seiont and Cedron take pets (call first, £25 a week each, maximum two); Teigl does not. Glaslyn is the lodge with a private hot tub. The lodge page still shows 2018 prices, so confirm rates when you book.
