If you can get past the terrible name, then this is a great place to stay. Lodge guests of “the cabin” exclusively use the fishing lake. The cabin is full of rustic charm and is the only cabin we have ever found on its own island! You have to cross the walkway to access the cabin (you may need your trolley for this one!).
There are other cabins and a shepherd’s hut on site, but these do not come with a private lake like the cabin. Looking at the availability, you’ll need to book in early to get this one in the summer.

Key Information
This is my kind of fisheries: 1 1/4 lake exclusive stock with the Lenny strain of carp—perfect! The lake has one lodge and is a private fishing lake for lake guests. If you want to mix it up from the lodge peg, there are four pegs around the lake.
The lake stock looks good with carp to 30lb and a number of known 20s. This is a special place in Devon to visit for a fishing holiday.
The lodge has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

Lake View Lodge is a quaint-looking site with a wooden lodge set alongside your own private lake. It appears from the website that if you book the lodge, you get exclusive use of the lake as well. There are other pegs, so you could bivvy up in different places if you wanted to. There is a full multiple lake fishery next door if you wanted to try a different lake.

Key Information
First launched in 2022, the Pines lodge at Blackthorn gives you a 1.5 acre private lake to fish. Bookings can be for 4 nights during the week, the weekend or a full week. The carp stock is spectacular – This is one of the best private fishing lakes in the UK!
