S&R Fisheries - Caistor, Lincolnshire - Specimen Carp Lake WIth Private Pegs
This had to be number one on our list! It has been seen on YouTube with Alan Blair taking his family there fishing, you may even bump into him if you are lucky. Carp fishing legend Spooner is also known to visit with his family too!
This is a great place for a family fishing holiday if you want to catch some serious carp! There is a total of 3 lakes on the site with 1 lodge on each lake. This is top of my list of places to visit next time I head to the North East.
Lodge info
- All lodges have a private peg on one of the lakes with a dedicated swim, as standard at a premium fishery.
- Jacqui’s pool is the best lodge to book for families and the most luxurious looking.
- Jaqui’s lodge has air con for the summer and heating in the winter making it a great place to stay all year round.
- The lodges sleep up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms and up to 2 dogs are allowed in selected lodges.
Fishing info
- The carp fishing is some of the best in Lincolnshire.
- In the specimen pool, the carp go to 40lb with an average of 29lb, although it is described as a tough water.
- The lodges are all well positioned to allow access to a vast amount of water and usually an island margin.
- The lodges all have double swims.
Tattershall Lakes - Tattershall, Linconshire - Excellent For Families
Tattershall is a large holiday park with lots of activities. It is a great place to stay for younger families who want some casual carp and coarse fishing and lots to do. I have a friend who visits here regularly and always has a great time (and catches lots of carp!).
It is now part of the Away Resorts group and it continues to be a great destination for anglers and non-anglers alike.
I have a good friend who I regularly fish with who has been here a few times. The accommodation is good and there are lots of activities on-site for families. The carp are usually small – 3-7lb range but there’s plenty of them to catch. The coarse fishing means that you’ll keep catching on the float in the warmer months.
Lodge info
- This is a large lodge park so selecting the right lodge when booking is key.
- There is a number of lodges that have fishing directly in front of them around 3 fishing lakes.
- You can fish – The fishing lake (this is the best one) or the 2 smaller lakes, Marlins Point and Rudd lake.
- The lodges are similar to a static caravan in style, selected ones also have hot tubs. They vary from 1 to 4 beds.
Fishing info
- There is a total of 3 fishing lakes. “The fishing lake” is the main one for carpers with carp to 32lb and pike to 25 lb.
- For younger anglers and families there are 2 coarse fishing lakes on-site as well.
- At Tatteshall you will also find an on-site tackle shop with everything you need – no need to take a car full of bait!
- Some of the pegs are wooden built so if you are carping you’ll need your pod – as you can see from the picture on the right.
Castior Lakes - Market Ranson, Lincolnshire - Dog Friendly Fishing Breaks
Castior Lakes is a well-known fishing lake in the heart of Lincolnshire. It has excellent carp fishing and over the past few years has been adding high-quality lodges to the site. This is one of the few fishing lodges that allow dogs making the best choice for dog owners.
Lodge info
- NOTE: This is an adult-only site, it is excellent for serious carpers.
- The lodges look done to a high standard. We would not class them in the luxury category from our experience but they are very nice.
- Only 4 lodges have direct fishing access to Arthurs pool so be sure to check which lodge you are booking.
- You can add on a dinner bed and breakfast package in all lodges.
Carp Fishing info
- This is a premier carp fishing lake with some of the largest carp in Lincolnshire! Any carper would be happy to spend a weekend here.
- Some lodges have private pegs, others have direct access to the lake, some overlook the lake and some are over the match lake. The price varies so be sure to check which exact lodge you want when booking.
- Arthur’s Lake is the main carp lake and this is exclusive to residents and not open for day ticket fishing.

Waterside Fishing Lodges, Spilsby, Lincolnshire - Family Friendly Specimen Carp Fishing Accommodation
These are fantastic 2-bedroom lodges on the edge of the lake. The upstairs has a gallery double bedroom with views over the lake. There are only 2 lodges on site and only Kingfisher Lodge allows pets. Children are allowed but must be over 10 years old due to the lakeside location.
The lake is a private lake for the lodge guests only, just how we like it! These both have a private swim in the way of the decking area in front of the lodge. This looks like a great place to get away and do some fishing.
The website lists the carp as up to 25 lb but the photos on the site do not show a fish of this size – we are not saying there isn’t just that we cannot verify this. The carp caught look in good condition and I would estimate them to be up to around 12lb, possibly 14lb.
Willow Lakes, Grimsby, Lincolnshire - Coarse Fishing Lake, Some Laleside Lodges
Willow Lakes in Grimsby has coarse fishing lakes as a part of a 42-acre site in the Lincolnshire countryside. There is a choice of 2 or 3 bed room lodges and these come with a lake or woodland view. This looks like a good place for a family fishing holiday.
Lodge info
- Lodges are available to rent with selected lodges in a lakeside position. This is like having a private fishing peg of your own right by the lake.
- Lodges are described as luxury and selected lodges have outdoor hot tubs.
- Lodges are available to buy as well as rent for a holiday.
- The site also has a restaurant.
Fishing info
- The lake is a large coarse fishing lake and around 8 lodges have lakeside access. It appears that all the lodges on site can use the lake, a small change may be applicable. You will need a rod license.
Wold View Country Park - Lincolnshire - Lodges With 7 pegs on-site
Wold View Country Park has 11 lodges alongside each other by caravan touring pitches. The lodges are not specifically on the lakes or with private pegs. There are 2 lakes in front of the lodges across the track.
The lodges are really well down the nice interior and a nice quality to the finish. They have a decked area to the front overlooking the fishery.
No hot tub.
The lakes at Wold View have everything you could look for as a small carp and coarse angler. The lakes are mixed in size from larger lakes with an island down to a canal.
What I liked about them is how well-spaced the pegs are. This isn’t somewhere they try to fit everyone on top of each other. On the larger lake, they are 12 meters apart, down to 9 meters on the canal. This gives you enough room to find some fish and bait in a couple of areas.
Lincolnshire Fishing Lakes With Hot Tubs
Here are all the ones we have found –
- Castior Lakes Lodges
- Nuddock Wood Lodges
- West Wood Lakes
- Mill Farm Lodges
- Willow Lakes Lodges
- Tattershall Lakes
Note: Not all lodges have hot tubs, these are at selected lodges. Please check when booking that your lodge type has a jacuzzi if you want one!
Lincolnshire Glamping Pods With Fishing Lakes
Lincolnshire seems to have more lakes than the Lake District when you start looking at all the options! There are lots of nice small lakes that have some glamping. You’ll find everything from modern glamping pods to traditionally converted shepherd huts. The majority have fishing on site rather than private pegs due to the nature of glamping sites.
Hunters Lodge - Elsham, Lincolnshire - Excellent Carp Fishing & Glamping Pods
This is a very nice-looking place with a really chilled vibe. Choose from glamping in a camping pod or in bell tents with proper double beds. There are 4 fishing lakes on site with 3 specimen carp lakes and one coarse fishing lake.
Hunters Lodge fishery is conveniently located where the M180 turns into the A180 making it easy to get to.
Site info
- The glamping site is just away from the fisheries as shown in the photo below.
- You can choose from a camping pod or bell tent.
- Hunters Fisheries is a well-established fishery with 4 lakes.
- If you want to fish the carp lakes it is recommended that you book well in advance of your trip to make sure you get a peg.
