Furnace Brook Fishing Lodges – Private Fishing Platform

Nestled in the serene High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Furnace Brook isn’t just a fishing destination; it’s a slice of paradise for those looking to immerse themselves in nature. The peacefulness of the area is palpable, with the only sounds being the gentle lapping of water against the lake’s edge and the calls of various birds that visit regularly. This is one of the top fishing lodges with a private peg in Sussex.

  • Private terrace to fish from at the front of the lodge
  • Mixed coarse and carp fishing with a good number of doubles
  • 2 lakes to choose from on the site
  • A natural-looking place with nice and tidy fishing pegs

The lodges themselves offer a unique blend of rustic charm and modern conveniences. The accommodation is split with a double bed on the mezzanine floor, accessible by a sturdy ladder, and two twin beds providing ample space for guests.

For those with a passion for fishing, private lakes are just a stone’s throw away from the lodges, where tranquillity and the chance for a memorable catch go hand in hand. The lakes are stocked and well-cared for, presenting anglers with the opportunity to fish in a diverse and vibrant ecosystem.

Aside from fishing, visitors can explore the locale through various activities. There’s a microbrewery on-site offering tastings of their locally brewed beer, which I found perfectly refreshing after a day by the lake. The nearby Merrie Harriers is a 16th-century coaching inn that promises a good meal after a short walk to the village. And for those looking to extend their stay, Roughlands Bungalow provides additional accommodations just next door.
