Viaduct Fishery is a family run business on Dew Water Lane in the Cary Valley, Somerton. It has six stocked lakes for dawn to dusk day tickets, an on-site tackle shop and seven Norwegian log cabin lodges looking over Middle Lake and the valley.
The lakeside lodges come with two or three bedrooms and private fishing pegs; the lakeview lodges, new for 2025, have one, two or three bedrooms and hot tubs. Kingfisher, a lakeside lodge, sleeps six in three twin bedrooms with two shower rooms, and its listing says guests get free fishing with two private pegs outside and access to five of the lakes, excluding match fishing. Pets are not allowed. Glastonbury is about 20 minutes away.
Spring or Middle Lake holds some of the biggest carp on the complex, to 27lb, and is one of the best lakes for perch. Cary Lake, known as Scary Cary, produces carp to the mid twenties with perch over 3lb and tench, and Lodge Lake has carp from 2lb to 20lb. Match Lake holds F1s and single figure carp, and Campbell Lake is for matches only, with a match record of 462lb.
