Blackthorn Pines is the newest lodge at Blackthorn Fishery, on private farmland above Trefonen about 11 minutes from Oswestry. Unlike the lodges on the main lake, it has a lake of its own.
The lodge has two en-suite bedrooms with super-king beds that convert to singles, a sofa bed suited to children, a full kitchen, a wet room with a rain shower, wifi and a 50 inch television. It sleeps four, with room for two anglers, or three fishing two rods each.
Pines Lake is stocked with 70 specimen carp, around 60 of them over 20lb.
Pines Lake is 1.5 acres and stocked with 70 specimen carp: fully scaled mirrors, apple slices, linears and leathers. Around 60 are now over 20lb, seven are confirmed over 30lb, and the lake record is 38lb 14oz. Bait boats are allowed here, unlike on the main lake, and children from 8 can fish with adult supervision.
