Dorset Fishing Lodges With Guest-Only Lakes and Dogs Welcome
Two hand-built Scandinavian lodges and Kelper's Barn at Milton on Stour, near Gillingham, overlooking small coarse lakes that only staying guests can fish. The carp go to roughly 22lb, fishing costs £30 a week, and both lodges take two well behaved dogs.

A small, quiet farm stay where the lakes belong to the guests. Whistley Farm has only three places to stay, and the lakes are for guests alone, so you are never sharing the bank with day ticket anglers. The half acre lakes hold carp to about 22lb with bream, tench and roach, which suits families and relaxed anglers. The lodges take two dogs and come with a private pitch and putt course.
Good for
- Families wanting quiet guest-only fishing
- Anglers bringing a dog
- Week-long stays in North Dorset
Think twice if
- You want big-water specimen fishing: the lakes are about half an acre each
- You need a hot tub: none is mentioned
