York Lake Side Lodges - The Best Carp Fishing Lodges in Yorkshire!
Located in the heart of York and conveniently only 2 miles away from the city centre, ‘York Lakeside Lodges’ are cosy, self-catering lodges with gorgeous, scenic views of the magnificent 10-acre lake. Surrounded with trees and woodland, it really is something special and is a fantastic location for a relaxing fishing break. The lodges sleep between 2-7 people, so it’s a great for couples on a romantic break or larger families. All of the lodges are also pet friendly, so perfect for a family getaway. There are lots of local restaurants, shops and amenities all within 1 mile of the site and York Racecourse and the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet are also very nearby.

Willow Waters, Pocklington, Yorkshire - Private pegs for carp and pike fishing
‘Willow Waters’ is a family run business situated in the market town of Pocklington. The 100-year-old lake hosts 3 spacious, rustic log cabins that allow guests to escape everyday life and provide a sanctuary to truly relax and unwind. Private fishing only for guests is available on the lake directly from the stylish cabins and they all have a large, open plan kitchen/living area and a cosy wood burner. ‘Kingfisher’ is the largest cabin and sleeps 6 and ‘Aylesbury’ and ‘Brown Owl’ comfortably accommodate 4 people. If you fancy venturing out to the coast while staying here, Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington and Whitby are all close by.
Fishing at Willow Waters
The carp fishing at Willow Waters looks good with a recent stocking of more carp taking place in 2023. The catch reports show that carp of 20lb+ come out of the lake as well as some double-figure-looking pike in the winter months.
The fishing is for lodge residents only and there are only 3 lodges around the lake. These all have a private fishing peg either in front of the lodge or just to the side.

Leven Park Lake, Beverley, Yorkshire - Mixed carp and coarse fishing
Burrowed in private parkland close to Beverly, Driffield and Bridlington in East Yorkshire, is the hidden gem, ‘Leven Park Lake’. 3 beautiful cabins ‘Kingfisher’, ‘Mallard’ and ‘Swan’ sit amongst established woodland providing idyllic views and serenity at its finest. There are 4 private fishing pegs from each cabin and fishing is entirely private, with cabin guests having complete exclusivity of it during their stay. All of the cabins are contemporary and finished to a high standard, with all of the bits and pieces you need – tea, coffee, milk and biscuits is also awaiting you on arrival. There are local tackle shops close by and also golf courses and shopping. Pets are not permitted to stay here.
Fishing at Levens Park Lake
The fishing at Levens Park Lake is for lodge guests only, there are no day tickets. The fishing is mixed coarse and carp fishing. The site is listed as having carp to 28lb although from the photos the average looks around 5lb to 8lb. There looks to be a good head of coarse fish in the lake.
As you can see from the photo below, there is some unique koi and ghost cross over carp in the lake.

Heron Lakes, Beverley
‘Heron Lakes’ provides a large selection of premium holiday lodges near Beverley, Yorkshire and is the best of both worlds – sat amongst the stunning Yorkshire countryside, it is also very near to the stunning coastline. The deluxe range of lodges are fully equipped, contemporary with all the modern touches and furnished to an exceptionally high standard, some also have private hot tubs. Wonderful views of Heron lakes can be seen from the spacious cabins and it is a blissful haven to relax. You also don’t have to venture far to dine, there is an on-site Italian restaurant, ‘Pasco’s’ serving outstanding food.
Fishing at Heron Lakes Lodges
The site caters to all kinds of fishing with 3 on-site lakes that lodge guests can fish. There is a mixed coarse lake, lake 2, which has roach to 2lb and carp to 10lb as well as some rainbow and brown trout. Lake 3 is the carp lake with carp to 12lb. This has a mix of common and ghost carp. The 4th lake is a trout lake that is stocked with blue, rainbow and brown trout up to 4lb for the fly anglers.

Situated in East Yorkshire, ‘Westfield Country Park’ sits in 37 acres of delightful Yorkshire countryside. The site is a mere 3 miles from the coast, which means plenty of beautiful beaches are very close by! The convenient location of the park is also not far from the city of Hull, so you are able to embrace the tranquillity of the countryside, but also have the city of Hull on the doorstep, should you fancy venturing out. There are 30 exquisite, charming lodges in total and most of them have private hot tubs and some are dog friendly. The lodges accommodate between 2-10 people, so it’s perfect for couples or larger groups. There are 3 amply stocked lakes for fishing and keen anglers are able to fish directly from the edge of the lodges. Facilities are great and the on-site tea room, ‘The Spotted Duck’ is a bonus!
Fishing at Westfield Park
The site ahs 3 fishing lakes with mixed stock in them. There is carp to a reported 27lb along with the usual coarse fish and some barbel and chub. Only a few lodges have fishing directly in front of them on the first lake. Some of the other lodges are set back away from the lake where you’d have to walk round to a peg to fish.

If you are looking for something a little different and fancy a unique stay, there is a hidden gem in the village of Gilling West, Richmond. A contemporary houseboat sits on a private jetty on the lake providing chic and luxurious accommodation. The location is perfect for couples on a romantic break and there is a private hot tub and a sumptuous, comfortable king-size bedroom. The quirky accommodation provides panoramic views of the lake from the sliding doors and the fairy-lit path makes it a truly magical place to stay. Fishing is available on-site in another location. The market town of Richmond is close to Richmond Castle. There are lots of beautiful walks close by and also a highly recommended pub less than 1 mile away.
